Cruz de Alba comes from Ribera del Duero, an area in Castilla y Leon, Spain. It comes from a Biodynamic farm. This means the wine vines are grown respecting nature, the moon cycle and natural nutrients, no artificial irrigation, picked by hand and no preservatives are used in its manufacture, among other considerations. This wine is made with 100% Tempranillo grape with a 24 month aging time: 14 months in new French & American oak barrels and 10 months in bottle. You can find it in El Horreo de V Suarez in Guaynabo & Ponce. FUN FACT: Tempranillo grape is called Tinto Fino or Tinto de Pais in Ribera del Duero. SIGHT (+1): Intense cherry color with purple undertones, NOSE (+1): red ripe berries, some spices, PALATE (+1): low tannins, medium acidity, medium body. FLAVOR (+1): red plum finish. BALANCE, LENGTH, COMPLEXITY: (0) Not much complexity of aromas, oak is not that present. RATING: 4.0
